"From the moment Kamala put on her costume, she's been challenged. But nothing has prepared her for this: the last days of the Marvel Universe. It's a very special guest appearance that fans have been clamoring for: Carol 'Captain Marvel' Danvers and Kamala 'Ms. Marvel' Khan face the end of the world side-by-side! Between teaming up with her personal hero to rescue her brother and trying to keep her city from falling into an all-out frenzy, Kamala has barely had time to come to terms with the fact that the world is literally collapsing around her. But the truth will catch up to her, and soon. When the world is about to end, do you still keep fighting? Kamala knows the answer. Let's do this, Jersey City"--

I took some time to read this volume because I wanted to understand if my nonexistent knowledge of what "Secret Wars" was could ruin this for me. Turns out that no, there is no way that this reading experience could be ruined by anything because it is a beautiful collection of Kamala doing what is right, growing up and understanding unconditional love. Probably the most lovely comics I will ever read.

More of a random collection of plots then I would have liked, each side story had a lot to like about it even if I would have prefer it to add up a little bit more - and not leave me on such a freaking cliff hanger!

Besides Carol Danver's mohawk, I think my favorite snipbit from this volume was the plot involving Kamala's brother. A much more conservative and religious character, Wilson goes out of her way to let him confirm himself as a person. If that makes any sense.
