I am European, but I knew Abraham Lincoln was one of the most important presidents of the US. Slavery was abolished during his presidency and a civil war was fought over that. Funny enough, I was never interested in learning more about him until I read this book. The author wove Lincoln's real history so well with this vampire story that I could not stop myself from reading about Lincoln's life and comparing bits of the book with proper History. That is what I loved most about this book, not only it is surprising as it pushed me into learning a very important piece of US History in the oddest possible way.
