"May you live in interesting times" is the worst thing one can wish on a citizen of Discworld -- especially on the distinctly unmagical sorcerer Rincewind, who has had far too much perilous excitement in his life. Rincewind is living happily on an island, which means something disastrous is about to happen (to him). And indeed, he is sent to a faraway land in need of a "great wizard". In that continent Rincewind meets Cohen the Barbarian and tries to stay away from trouble, but trouble enjoys his company.

Pratchett always knows how to make me live in interesting times through his writing. Another fantastic book, and to think I did not even like Rincewind to start with!...
