From the author of One for the Money comes the second clever comic mystery featuring irrepressible bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Here, Stephanie finds herself on the trail of a killer who happens to have a distant relative who's a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations. Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum debuted in Janet Evanovich's award-winning One for the Money. I wasn't expecting this book to be as funny as the first one, but guess what? It really was! (Hence the 5 stars) This time bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has to find Kenny Mancuso, a guy who shot his best friend and happens to be related to Joe Morelli. This case eventually leads Stephanie to a funeral home and she can count with the counselling of an expert: Grandma Mazur. Her grandma doesn't miss a good funeral and as Stephanie puts it, Grandma Mazur reads the obituary columns like they’re part of the paper's entertainment section. Other communities have country clubs and fraternal orders. The burg has funeral parlors. Once things start to get complicated, Stephenie knows she can count on Morelli to have her back and to make fun of her.

Again, it's easy to understand what's happening and there's no real mystery, but it's exactly the opposite …
