Review of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
In the previous book Harry is taught by Dumbledore and learns what he must do to finally kill Voldemort. He accepts the task Dumbledore gives him, and together with Ron and Hermione searches for the remaining horcruxes to destroy/kill them.
Even though this was the last book in the series, it was the one I remembered the least. For most of it, it curiously felt like I was reading it for the first time. It springs into action right in the first pages, there is a great airborne battle before the wedding. But then it slows down so much I had to switch to the audiobook version (read by Stephen Fry) so I could listen while doing other stuff and feel less bored by it. Harry redeems himself in the end, but for most of it he is dim-witted. Fortunately the book picks it pace again towards the end, and I went back to reading for the great ending. I am not sure of my rating because there are bits I really like and others that I simply forgot because they are boring and useless.
